Boxing ring gong cell phone strap.

This is Oscar De La Hoya in the Xbox 360 game, Fight Night: Round 3. Whenever I can’t find one of my editors at work, it’s usually because they’re holed up in some corner of the office pretending to be him, vying to win the fake championship belt that proudly circulates from cubicle to cubicle. Next time I can’t find one of them, I’m just going to pull out my cell phone and push one of the little black buttons on my mini boxing ring gong. "KAAAN!" it goes, emulating the sound of a gong. Time’s up, boys! Get back to work! Lisa needs to ask you a question.

And if they pause the game only to give me a nasty killer glare, I’ll just push the other black button, which unleashes the referee’s voice saying "FIGHT!" And I won’t get in trouble.

Available starting mid-November here for 680 yen.

  1. I wondered what that was on the U.S. Strapya site. . . Just another wacky item from the team over there. Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy reading your entries. They’re witty and comical and lighten up my day with random bits of Japanese culture.
